“Disruptive” Author Clayton Christensen to Speak at the STC 2012 Forum: Boston

By definition every STC member school leader is a “disrupter.” You started and have sustained your schools by disrupting the status quo.

No one understands what you have been through better than Clayton Christensen who wrote the landmark book in 1997 that defines innovative disrupters, The Innovator’s Dilemma.

I am thrilled to announce that the eminent Professor Christensen will be our lunch speaker at the Boston Forum on Thursday, April 26. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to gain a perspective on what you have experienced and insights on what lies ahead from one of the most respected teachers and scholars around. Professor Christensen is aware of STC and will learn more about us prior to the Forum to ensure his presentation will be relevant to each of your schools and to you.

Clayton Christensen is the Robert and Janie Cizik Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School. He founded the Ceramics Process Systems Corporation with several MIT professors and served as a White House Fellow and as a staff member of the Boston Consulting Group. He is the author or co-author of numerous journal articles and the iconic book, The Innovator’s Dilemma which introduced the disrupter concept into the business lexicon. More recently he has applied his research and thinking to education and wrote the book, Disrupting Class: How Disruptive Innovation Will Change the Way the World Learns in 2008, a revolutionary approach applicable to K-12 education.

If you can, read both books before coming to Boston. Most importantly, come to Boston to hear Clayton Christensen and gain insights that can change your professional lives.

See you in Boston for what is developing into a fascinating Forum – one you will not forget.

Sincerely,
Michael Druckman
