Brockton School Receives Extra Hour For School Day
Huntington Elementary School gains an extra hour towards their already extended day. The school now has eight full hours for the Brockton, Massachusetts students to continue their innovative approach to learning. The principal, June Saba, used the $2.1 million grant given to them from the state to increase their seven hour day to eight. After the school spent money to increase the day two years ago, the new grant will pay for the eighth hour as well as the seventh. This extra time will give teachers the opportunity to cover more from their core curriculum and add activities including hands-on learning such as art, cooking, forensics, drama and even robotics.
