Detroit Service Learning Academy is pleased to present Class Act, a half hour television show that highlights their best practices, and school culture. The show will give viewers a honest behind the scenes look at what it takes to become an award winning, high performing, Beating the Odds, School of Excellence. Watch Class Act this fall beginning Sunday, August 21 at 5:30pm on WADL.

Detroit Service Learning Academy is a public charter school located in the heart of Detroit and is home to over 1100 students. The school is chartered by Lake Superior State University; it is the first school in the State to receive the title of School of Excellence by the Michigan Department of Education. DSLA is also the recipient of a $75,000, Skillman Grant, $60,000 Learn and Serve Grant for Service Learning, $5000.00 Youth Service Grant for Service Learning, Michigan Community Service Commission Learn and Serve Excellence Award, Michigan Breakfast Challenge/Honor Roll, and they are the Official Hosts of the National Service Commission.
