Developing Teachers

STC develops teachers’ skill sets to plan and facilitate hands-on learning experiences.

These programs build teachers’ capacity to manage change in schools and to plan and execute engaging real-world learning in their classrooms.

Professional Learning Groups | Cohorts of educators and leaders from schools meet regularly to promote innovation and drive continuous improvement for their students. Using evidence-based frameworks (improvement science, design thinking, or Deeper Learning), STC facilitates learning across PLGs and supports schools’ individual improvement projects.

STC Maker Fellows Program | The STC Maker Fellows Program provides elementary and middle school teachers with training, curriculum, and support to facilitate makerspaces that foster 21st century competencies and STEAM skills. Run in partnership with MakerState, the Fellows program was recently awarded a National Science Foundation grant to study the integration of this approach into elementary science classrooms.
