STC’s Empowers Leaders by helping them to reimagine education through Real-World Learning that closes the opportunity and skills gap.
STC works with school leadership to help them reflect on their overall school vision and to strengthen and expand real-world learning opportunities for their students. Key programs include:
Real-World Learning Rubric | Resources. Outcomes. Support. Opportunities. Skills. Learning. Relevant. STC heard these things from schools and school leaders, and worked with an Advisory Council to create the foundation of our work. Click here to see the rubric.
National Forum | STC annually hosts the National Forum in a different STC city. The Forum is a public, interactive conference with workshops, panels, and presentations facilitated by STC leaders and experts.
Real-World Learning Leadership Academy | STC convenes school practitioners from across the country to help them learn directly from each other in order to improve real-world learning. The Academy includes a multi-day conference hosted by a leading STC school, and features educator-led workshops on practices like project-based learning, mastery-based grading, and industry partnerships. Past Academies have been hosted by the Da Vinci Schools in Los Angeles and MC2 STEM High School in Cleveland.
RFK Urban Education Awards | The RFK Urban Education Awards recognize excellent character in students, teachers, and school leaders. Scholarships connect students to opportunities not otherwise available, from summer programs to support for college.
Communications | STC’s newsletters and blog posts keep the community abreast of new trends and opportunities, spotlighting stories about real-world learning from our schools and beyond.
