Operations and HR Director

Emily comes to Schools That Can with over 15 years of experience in education, the last 10 spent in New York City Charter Schools.  Emily was the founding Operations Manager at Unity Preparatory Charter School of Brooklyn in Bed-Stuy prior to joining MESA Charter High School where she most recently served as Director of Operations. Before that she taught Art to grades Pre-K through 8 in East Tennessee public schools and acted as the Special Education coordinator at Schenck Job Corps in Pisgah National Forest. Emily holds a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design, an M.S. in Art Education from the University of Tennessee, and an Master of Social Work from NYU. In her free time, Emily loves spending time outdoors, cooking, creating, and traveling with her family!
