Roger Horton

Director of Maker Programs, New York City

Roger is dedicated to empowering teachers and sparking students’ passion for learning with real-world challenges. He was immersed in project-based learning as a teacher of Global History and Engineering Design at EPIC North High School in Queens, and STC network school. Before teaching, Roger managed youth and economic development programs for Mercy Corps, an international humanitarian organization. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from MIT, an MPA in International Development Studies from Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School, and an MA/M.Ed in Social Studies and Interdisciplinary Studies from Teachers College, Columbia University. When not enjoying the culture of NYC, Roger likes to go hiking in the Hudson Valley.
