e2e CAREER READINESS CURRICULUM
Career Readiness Curriculum
Our e2e (education to employment) Career Readiness Curriculum was recognized as exemplary by the U.S. Department of Education’s Career Z Challenge in 2024 in collaboration with South Bronx Community Charter High School.
Led by our talented STC facilitators who join students and educators directly in classrooms, our units are customizable to fit a school’s needs, supporting 8th-12th grade students as they build confidence, sharpen skills needed to excel in school, work, and beyond, and discover what their futures can look like along the way.
Inside Our Units
STC’s curriculum connects each unit, ensuring students understand the relationship between units and lessons. This approach provides multiple opportunities for students to master content and ideas. Our units can be customized to meet school needs.
In addition to offering multiple touchpoints with volunteer professionals across industries who provide guidance and feedback, development of real-world tools like resumes and cover letters, and a student-centered approach to preparing for the world of work, our curriculum has a thoughtful alignment to literacy and numeracy skills designed to support students in the classroom, in work, and beyond.

Unit 1: Defining Your Path
Guides students through a process of self-discovery and career exploration. Students are encouraged to develop their research skills by exploring three different careers, while having opportunities to participate in career chats with inspiring guest speakers from different industries and walks of life.
Unit 4: Tell Me About Yourself
A communication module that helps students practice self-advocacy by developing their own personal elevator pitch, exploring various ways communication and professionalism coexist, and mock networking opportunities with industry professionals.
Unit 2: Changing World of Work
Provides an engaging, comprehensive exploration of the past, current, and future world of work. Students will learn about diverse career pathways, including trades and entrepreneurship, while practicing and exploring the tools for resilience needed to succeed in a changing workforce and economy.
Unit 5: Getting the Job
A module that takes high school students from how to search for jobs, and spot scam job listings online, to resume writing, cover letter writing, and interview preparedness. It culminates with a mock interview with an industry professional.
Unit 3: Micro-internships
A flexible module that invites a company partner to assign students a real-world work challenge, which students collaborate on to resolve for several weeks. Students present their real-world work solutions to their "employer" for feedback and commentary as a culminating event.
Unit 6: Making Money Work
Introduces students to the 6 components of financial literacy by providing a simulated employment experience. Students are "hired" at the beginning of the module with an entry level annual salary, and practice budgeting their paychecks and cash flow based on needs and wants.
