
Jennifer Cortez
Director, Work-Based Learning Opportunities
Jennifer Cortez is Director, Work-Based Learning Opportunities, at Schools That Can. Jennifer is responsible for developing and leading day-to-day work to support and build access to high-quality work-based learning opportunities for STC’s high school partners. Within this role, Jennifer provides facilitation of career readiness and internship curriculums as well as assists schools with actively developing relationships with employers and community partners.
Prior to working at Schools That Can, Jennifer was the Director of Real World Learning at Big Picture Learning, where she supported a network of schools with partnership coaching and cultivation. During her time at Big Picture Learning, she designed a “School-Partner Design Guide” which served as a blueprint for schools and partners to collaboratively develop unique experiences that led into internships opportunities. Jennifer graduated from SUNY Purchase College with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and earned a Master of Science degree in Nonprofit Leadership from Fordham University.
