Democracy Prep was featured in Arirang News: Asia’s Heartbeat for its integration of Korean values into its curriculum.

The Harlem school “doesn’t have a single Korean student,” yet students study both Korea’s language and culture and recently showcased their worldliness in performance at the school’s “Korean Night” that included “a fusion of traditional Korean folk dance and pop music (and) a demonstration of Taekwondo martial arts.” Check out this video of students’ Korean Vowel Dance.

Founder & Superintendent Seth Andrew previously taught in Korea and sought to bring the country’s values, like “discipline, respect, enthusiasm, accountability, and maturity,” into the U.S. through Democracy Prep. The incorporation has made a measurable impact.
