STC Chicago

What We Do

As one of the original Schools That Can cities, STC Chicago started as a small, volunteer-led cohort of schools that has since grown to a cross-sector network of 27 schools led by a full-time Executive Director and a nine member Advisory Board. Our programming focuses on expanding access to real-world learning through Professional Learning Groups (PLGs), a High School Transition Workgroup, and summer programming focusing on the STEM fields. STC Chicago does not work in isolation; in addition to our schools, we have meaningful partnerships with numerous higher education, philanthropic, private and nonprofit sector partners, demonstrating that through collaboration, we can work together to close the opportunity and skills gap for Chicago’s children.
