Chicago

STC Chicago is a cross-sector network of roughly 30 district, charter, and independent schools committed to closing the opportunity and skills gap for Chicago’s children.

What We Do

STC Chicago offers programs that enhance real-world learning including: Professional Learning Groups, a High School Transition working group, and a HS Exploration Event for middle schools. Additionally, we are launching Maker Programs with several local schools and we seek to create a career pathway awareness program in K-8 to aid students in the high school transition process, ultimately creating a more robust education to employment pathway

Special Chicago Initiatives

High School Exploration

STC Chicago runs a High School Transition working group and an annual High School Exploration event. The event, which reaches hundreds of students annually, helps middle schoolers and their families navigate the difficult high school application process. Additionally, the working group, which includes middle school teachers and counselors and community based organizations, meets throughout the year to share resources and create new tools to better facilitate the transition from middle to high school for students.

Every year, we’re overwhelmed with gratitude for our community who supports our students, schools, and teachers by helping us bring the impact of real-world learning into classrooms and beyond.

This year, we’re proud to share our Schools That Can RWL Gratitude Campaign, where we’re asking you to stand with students and give what you can to expand real-world learning. Throughout the giving season, we’ll be sharing the impact of STC programs and stories about how RWL has changed our lives.

Whether it’s $5 or $50, every donation goes directly to supporting students, teachers, and RWL programming. Give what you can: www.schoolsthatcan.org/donate/
