On Wednesday, May 1 as part of the Schools That Can National Forum, we will host the Leaders That Can and Robert F. Kennedy Urban Education Awards Luncheon.

The Leaders That Can Awards are presented annually to individuals and corporations that have given back in significant ways to the city that is hosting the STC Forum. This year, we will be recognizing Dr. Nancy Cantor, Chancellor of Rutgers University – Newark, for her unyielding support of diversity in education and commitment to creating and expanding innovative educational pathways for the students of Newark. We will also recognize STC partner and supporter Prudential for their efforts to increase student engagement, cultivate leadership, and support career pathways for young people in Newark.

Presented annually in partnership with RFK Human Rights, the Robert F. Kennedy Urban Education Awards celebrate the students, teachers, and school leaders in the STC network who are advocating for change and speaking truth to power. Each year, we publicly recognize 3 finalists in each category and then present the award to one student, teacher, and school leader. This year, Kennedy’s granddaughter Cara Kennedy Cuomo will present the awards.
