Project Description
Dr. Carol Wooten is the co-founder and first Superintendent of Propel Schools, a consortium of ten urban charter schools in Pittsburgh and surrounding communities. She taught biology and other sciences for fifteen years, and served as a principal. Carol is a Faculty Fellow at the Center for Urban Ed at the University of Pittsburgh, and received the Excellence in Educational Leadership Award in 2011 and the 2013 Departmental Alumni Award for the Department of Administrative and Policy Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. Carol lives with her husband in Pittsburgh and loves finding the time to visit children and grandchildren.
