Greisy Genao (they/she) is a poet, educator, and filmmaker from Queens, NY with a BA in English Writing and Film Studies from DePauw University. Greisy is a recipient of the Posse Foundation scholarship, as well as finalist for the prestigious Fulbright U.S Student Researcher award, where they conducted research on how folklore affects diasporic Dominican cinema. In between performing at poetry shows, publishing articles as a freelance writer, and filmmaking with local and artists abroad, Greisy is a curriculum designer & program facilitator with Schools That Can NYC, focusing on creating and implementing culturally responsive pedagogy and socio-emotional learning in the high school classroom.
