Project Description

Myron Terry, Ed.S.

Program Facilitator, Pittsburgh

For twenty years, I have been a middle and high school teacher in both California and Georgia. I was named the Teacher of the Year at Frank D. Parent, a K-8 school in Inglewood, California. I was also named the 2008-2009 Middle School Teacher of the Year, as well as the County Teacher of the Year during my time in the Douglas County (GA) School System. Additionally, I have coached football, basketball, and track.

My experiences have given me an understanding of the unique cognitive, emotional, and physical developments of youth. My teaching, counseling, coaching, and mentoring experience also allow me to contribute to the community at large.

On a personal level, I was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and moved to Los Angeles, California as a toddler. After high school, I attended Colorado State University on a football scholarship. I would later complete my Master’s Degree (Cross-Cultural Teaching) at National University, and my Educational Specialist Degree (Educational Administration) from Capella University.

I am most proud of my family. I have been married to my wife, Tasha, for 22 years. We have been blessed with 3 wonderful, intelligent sons: Nikolas, Mekhi, and Melik.
