Director of Administration, Hillier College of Architecture and Design, New Jersey Institute of Technology
Newark Advisory Board Member
Born and raised in Essex County, Tracy attended the Montclair Public schools and went on to attend Muhlenberg College. Upon graduating with a BA in International Studies, her first job was in sales for Skyline Displays where she developed new strategies for building a portfolio of business which would keep her in the top 20 nationally of sales executives. This success led to a leadership position as a Sales Manager for Getty Images where she led several teams through change management via acquisition. In 2001, Tracy took a break from the corporate world to spend time at home with her children, with a few years in between returning to Getty Images as a Regional Marketing Manager.
2015 presented an opportunity to return to the workforce full time with a new career in higher education, working at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in the Hillier College Of Architecture and Design. Close collaboration with the Dean of the College exposed her to budget management, alumni engagement, student recruitment, and project management. Successful development of programs led to a three year opportunity in the Finance Division of NJIT, this time working with the Sr. Vice President of Finance and CFO of the university. In this role, policy development and implementation, budget savings, risk management, and the opportunity to translate the complex into the simple gave Tracy the business operations background and big picture perspective of university administration. Familiarity with university operations combined with her earlier academic experience led to her return to the Hillier College of Architecture and Design in October of 2019. In this current role, Tracy oversees budget management and spending, business policy development, communication, alumni relationships, facilities management, and recruitment and partnership opportunities.
Tracy’s early background in sales and marketing has contributed to a unique approach in a higher education environment. Her ability to speak with people in a variety of business industries while maintaining a customer-centric perspective has helped her build relationships for the benefit of the College and its students.
