Lessons of Dance Educate First Graders at the Catalyst School Maria

First graders from the Catalyst School Maria engage in the art of dance while nurturing their character traits through the Joffrey Ballet. Mr. Pierre Locket directs the Joffrey Community Engagement Program to build up their confidence and garnish their traits with the added recreational activity of dance. Following the same pursuit of the Catalyst School Network as well as other STC schools, Mr. Locket strives to enhance the growth of socio-emotional development. He aims to find talented children of color living in urban communities that lack opportunity in order to foster their gifts by studying in the program. Through the school’s Renaissance Program, he will be helping the first graders learn self control and build social skills through dance.
