Over the course of their internships, STC’s interns are working virtually on communications efforts, including stories we tell about career readiness. We’re excited to get to know the amazing students sharing their skills and stories with Schools That Can.

Anisten is a junior at Northgate High School and attends Beattie Career Center for Health and Nursing Sciences. Anisten loves learning, but outside of school she enjoys writing, pottery, psychology, and hanging out with her friends and family.

What’s your favorite subject in school?

My favorite subjects are Anatomy and Physiology.

What’s your favorite activity or job you’re part of, and why?

My favorite activity I’m a part of is Entrepreneurship because it has boosted my public speaking skills, critical thinking, innovation, and teamwork skills. I have also won money from it 🙂

Do you know what kind of jobs you’re interested in pursuing in the future? If so, what jobs and why?

Midwife or an OBGYN because I am passionate about healing and supporting women and their families. I also love babies, they are so cute.

What’s one thing you wish adults knew about how it feels to be a student right now?

I wish adults knew that many of us just want to feel supported. The pressures of school, social life, and the future can be a lot to handle.

What’s the piece of advice you’d give your younger self?

The advice I would give my younger self is to embrace every moment and to cherish those around you.
